The Sports Academy
at the Fylde Coast YMCA
At the Fylde Coast YMCA we are committed to promoting health and well being that is accessible to all sectors of the community. Our Sports Academy makes sport and physical exercise available to kids of all ages in a fun and inclusive environment.
Developed in partnership with the FA and the Football Foundation, the YMCA Sports Academy provides a wide range of events that make sport more fun and help to build confidence, skill and fitness.
Aimed primarily at children, and held at our Lytham and St Annes sites as well as Carr Hill School in Kirkham, the Sports Academy has a diverse programme of activities that encourage personal development, sportsmanship and social skills in a team environment.
Our successful Sport in Schools scheme, meanwhile, brings sport and physical activity to local primary and senior schools. Our skilled staff are CRB cleared, hold child protection certificates and are qualified in various sports including – but not limited to – football, cricket, tennis, netball, rugby, hockey, dodgeball and tag.
Sport in Schools also delivers breakfast sports clubs in school core time, after school coaching, holiday coaching weeks, school team coaching and after school clubs. We've developed an excellent relationship with the schools we visit, and many schools notice an increase in pupils' motivation to play sport as a direct result of the scheme.
But it's not just for kids. Book a party with a difference, hosted by our Sports Academy coaches, and enjoy an active party including prizes, certificates and a healthy dose of fun.
