The Lytham St Annes YMCA Football Club’s Annual Summer Soccer School for 7-9 year olds came to an end last Thursday with the presentation of certificates. Over 60 boys and girls participated in the event held on five successive Thursday evenings at Seafield Road, Lytham and they were coached by members of the Fylde Sports Development team.
“This was the 30th Soccer School we have held here at the YMCA. Since it started 150 sessions have been held and amazingly, it had never rained on a single evening but this year it poured down on three of the five sessions!”
“However all sessions carried on regardless and the youngsters deserve great credit for the character they displayed in some really appalling weather. It wasn’t just very wet most nights, it was quite cold as well. We also thank the Sports Development Team for their superb professionalism in quite often very unpleasant conditions.”
