As of 1st April 2009 swimming at Fylde Coast YMCA Swimming Pools will be free for people aged 60+ and youngsters aged 16 and under.
The pools which are participating in the scheme include Fleetwood YMCA, Poulton YMCA Fitness and Swimming Centre and Garstang Swimming Centre.
We anticipate that Kirkham Swimming Pool will also join the scheme from June 2009 onwards.
In order to cope with the expected demand for the free swimming scheme, we have produced new swimming timetables with designated public swimming times throughout weekdays and the weekend. These public swimming times are open to all of those eligible for free swimming.
Yes. As the free swimming scheme is heavily funded through the government and your local councils we need to report accurate swimming figures.
There are a number of ways you can apply for free swimming.
1. Visit a Fylde Coast YMCA Leisure Centre: Visit any of our centres and complete a Free Swimming Application Form to receive your free swimming card. You will also need to provide proof of your age (photocopies accepted) and if you are 16 or under a parent / guardian must complete and sign the form for you.
2. Download the Free Swimming Application Form: You can download the form off this website. Print it out and complete it in advance and bring it in with your proof of age (photocopies accepted).

On completion of the form you will be given a Free Swim swipe card for future use. The first 1,000 participants will receive this card for free. After that there will be a charge of £1 per card issued.
